Central to the success of the Polymer Chemistry BU is an optimized purchasing strategy. Within this context, your mission in this role is to contribute to the development and realization of the BU purchasing strategy by assuring the continuity of raw materials and packaging supply at the lowest possible total cost.

Buyer Raw Materials and Packaging
The role and its responsibilities
Working from our office in Arnhem, the Netherlands, you are directly responsible for an EMEIA spend of <10 million EUR with approximately 100 suppliers.
Thus you work within the global purchasing strategy, and in consultation with the purchasing and business teams, to achieve the targets set by the BU purchasing strategy. You also develop, monitor and report KPIs as we seek to achieve cost savings.
Further, you are responsible for the collection, documentation and interpretation of market data on products and suppliers. Based on this you develop plans for the short- and long-term security of supply and supplier position(s) for the BU.
This requires you to build and maintain effective contacts with suppliers, and you are personally responsible for several purchasing contracts/frame contracts. At all times you ensure continuity of supply by searching for alternative suppliers in cooperation with RD&I and Technology.
You are an active participant within the Regional Purchase Team, and a member of cross-functional/cross-BU and AkzoNobel Sourcing projects.
You spend approximately 20% of your time traveling.
