This is the Role
As Procurement Manager you are responsible for all the procurement operation activities of the Middelburg site. The role involves management of the site procurement team (5 direct reports) and alignment of activities with other EMEA sites. Responsible spend is approximately $50M. You will develop, negotiate and manage supply contracts for Direct, Indirect, Energy and Utilities aligned with the site and functional strategy. As Procurement Manager you will manage one or more Strategic Procurement Categories in EMEA to drive savings and reduce risk to Eastman. You will negotiate and execute service agreements with site based contractors and utilize the site tendering processes to establish contracts for Projects and maintenance.

As Procurement Manager you identify and evaluate suitable external processing partners, negotiate contracts and monitor supplier performance. You promote the Procurement Function and apply commercial and risk reduction processes across the site. As Procurement Manager you will support regional procurement through supplier review, synergy identification and a high level of communication. You will manage a team of Middelburg Procurement and Stores personnel and maintain process and procedures in line with SOX requirements.

You are well versed in current business topics and issues and you are able to work across the various organization levels and functions effectively. You are results-driven and able to manage effective execution of plans that deliver tangible results. You initiate and facilitate continuous improvement as second nature and offer strong project management skills. You offer strong communication skills with the ability to advocate, negotiate and persuade. You present ideas in a clear and concise manner in all directions of leadership (up, down and lateral).

This is what you bring

• BSc or MSc degree in a relevant Commercial, Economical or Technical direction;
• Proven ability to execute business and functional strategies/initiatives;
• Proven ability to understand and process multiple considerations simultaneously while keeping an overall strategic mind-set for final decision making;
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a multinational, petrochemical purchasing or business /business development environment;
• SOX and SOD Compliance Control Experience.
